School Board Strategic Planning and Review
As Chair of her own children’s school Board, Dr Stacey Waters has an intimate understanding of the school governance landscape. Stacey is also the President of a large not-for-profit organisation in Perth, a Board member of the Constable Care Child Safety Foundation and Secretary of a local community sporting committee. Stacey has also represented health promotion interests on several University and stakeholder boards. These roles together with Stacey’s academic expertise in setting strategic plans, implementing these and evaluating their success lies at the core of the service offered by HPS. Our standard package for the development of a school strategic plan (or business plan) involves the following stages:
- Review of current plans / policies / documents
- School community consultation (via survey and interviews)
- School Board / Council workshop to present feedback and begin planning
- Presentation of draft strategic plan to Board and Staff
- Evaluation and Refinement of plan, and ongoing support
These stages are a guide only and can be tailored to suit your school. The standard package will culminate in a five page expertly formatted, user friendly document which sets out the school’s vision, mission, key activities and milestones for each. The business plan is written simply, yet is structured in a way that evaluating progress is straight forward.
