About Health Promotion Solutions
Health Promotion Solutions is an independent health promotion and evaluation consultancy service. Our aim is to provide evidence-based solutions for your school or business through professional development, strategic plan development, planning and meeting facilitation and all aspects of health program planning, implementation and review. After spending 15 years working at WA’s leading Universities in applied health promotion research, Dr Stacey Waters is now leading HPS with the aim of supporting schools and the health promotion community to embed evidence into their everyday practice. Stacey is widely engaged in the local community and has worked closely with schools to develop, implement and evaluate health promotion programs, including provision of teacher professional development across all areas of health promotion. Stacey’s comprehensive and exceptional research and evaluation skills have also been applied across the broader health promotion community from government to not-for-profit organisations.
Stacey’s research has been presented locally, nationally and internationally at conferences as well as widely published in the international literature, and she has developed wide and collegiate and industry networks within Australian and overseas across many health and social disciplines. Stacey brings her passion for health promotion with a drive to embed evidence into practice to HPS to help your school or organisation design, implement and evaluate healthy solutions.
Dr Stacey Waters
Dr Stacey Waters is an experienced health promotion practitioner and researcher with extensive intervention research expertise. Stacey has lead Edith Cowan University’s Child Health Promotion Research Centre (CHPRC) for three years and has a strong track record in health promotion intervention research focusing on bullying prevention, mental health promotion, road safety, injury control and social skill development in children and adolescents. Stacey is currently the State Director of ARACY, the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth and is working closely with stakeholders across WA to implement The Nest action agenda. Stacey is also the founder and Director of Health Promotion Solutions, an independent Health Promotion consulting service for the government, not-for-profit and school sectors.
Stacey’s PhD research investigated the active components of a school’s environment, or ecology, which influence the extent to which young people feel connected to their school and the role this plays in promoting mental health. She has won over $5 million in competitive research funding and has published her research widely in the scientific literature. She has also provided extensive expert consultation for Government and non-Government organisations preparing formative intervention designs and program evaluations, and is currently the President of the Injury Control Council of WA, a Board member of the Constable Care Child Safety Foundation as well as a member of the Healthway Health Promotion Research Sub-Committee.
